Side Trip: Ocean View Park and International Doll House

When you are in Bislig City, you should not miss to watch the beautiful expanse of Bislig Bay. The best place to do this is at the Ocean View Park which also houses the infamous International Doll House.

The Ocean View Park sits on top of a small hill. I and my friends visited the park early in the morning, when the sun still had a mild touch. But to our surprise, the place was not yet open. After asking around, we found out that the place was already open for visits; it was only the restaurant that was closed yet. LOL.

Going up the hill was not an easy job. Based on my counting, we had to take 274 steps in order to get to the top (other bloggers also have different counting). Though exhausting, the way up was quite exciting.
Indeed, the restaurant was closed so we just lingered around the park taking pictures of the beautiful Bislig Bay.

Afterwards, we went to the International Doll House which is only inside the compound of the park. For only an entrance fee of P20.00, one could get to enjoy seeing a museum of various dolls from around the world.
In order to maintain cleanliness, the owners required us to take our shoes off and just go barefoot inside the house. At the entrance, a life size image of greenery awaited us and we took time taking images of us with this background. It felt like we were truly in the scene.

Once inside the main room, we were overwhelmed with the enormous collection of dolls. The displays were composed of 25 years of doll collection by the owner and her Swiss husband.

First of this collection was the different versions of Barbie. I was amazed that every country has its own interpretation of Barbie dolls. And the Philippines is among them.
Aside from Barbie dolls, there were also dolls of famous people and royalties from different countries from Asia, Europe, Africa and America. Many of them seemed to have real-life qualities which felt eerie to me.
Among these dolls, I was particularly scared with Anne. I hate her bent position and the way she looked at us.
Aside from dolls, the owners also have a small collection of stuffed clowns and animals.
And for the boys, there were miniature cars and motorcycles. Bumblebee was even around. LOL.
Located at Mangagoy, the main district of Bislig City, one should never miss the Ocean View Park and International Doll House when visiting the peaceful city.
