Pasko sa Gensan 2011

Part of its tradition every December, the City is presently celebrating Pasko sa Gensan with the theme “Kampeon Ang Pasko sa Gensan”. This year’s celebration serves as tribute to the personalities who have brought honor and prestige to the little city. In the official poster (see the Facebook fanpage), prominent celebrities like Manny Pacquiao and Mommy Dionisia, Melai Cantiveros, Gerald Anderson, Melai Cantiveros, XB Gensan, Nonito Donaire, Shamcey Supsup, and many others are featured.

Pasko sa Gensan is being supervised by the General Santos Schools Division, spearheaded by Schools Division Superintendent Estrella Lariosa. It shall run from December 5-16.

The celebration kicked off last December 25, 2011 at the Oval Plaza. The program was graced by the presence of one of Gensan’s champions – Melai Cantiveros. Afterwards, a spectacular Grand Firework Display colored the night sky, signaling a festive and bountiful Christmas season for all the Generals.

There is so much to look forward to this time. Already, commercial stalls have already mushroomed around the oval plaza, selling affordable Christmas wares, gift items and merchandise. Also, the 26 barangays in the City have put up their best Show Cottages.

Other things to be excited about this Pasko sa Gensan are the “Kampeong Alingog-ngogan” (a concert of local talents) and the Gensan’s 1^st Christmas Ulitmate Frisbee Tournament. Here is a complete list of activities.
