Fiesta and Baptism of Paw-Paw

The other night, I and some friends attended a patronal fiesta at Quilantang, Barangay Calumpang. As always in barangay fiestas, the officials also hold some kind of mass baptism, and so did at Quilantang. So who got baptized? None other than the first baby of our group – Pauleen “Paw-Paw” Calinsawe. Well, her mother, Teresa, is our good friend and though Paw-Paw had been born four years ago, it was only now that Sam and Tere got the opportunity to have her christened. The ceremony was earlier that day, but having our jobs to attend to, not one of us was able to be present at the moment. Well, we did not fail to give our best wishes for Paw-Paw later…

It was only that night that we visited Teresa’s place. Typical of any Pinoy fiestas, guests and visitors just came and went. There was music all around and food enough to burst anyone’s stomach. And of course, a fiesta and a special occasion could not pass by without one of the most favorite dishes by Pinoys. None other than the greasy but yummy Lechon. Earlier that day, Sam took the efforts to roast the gigantic main dish.

So over food and drinks and beer and talks, we enjoyed the time. As they say, time flies when you are with friends.
