Sarangani Province is currently celebrating its 19th Foundation Anniversary and 9th MunaTo Festival. The festivities run from November 24 – 27, 2011 and countless activities are spread over the municipalities of Alabel, Glan, Malapatan, Malungon, Maasim, Kiamba and Maitum.
The MunaTo kicked off last November 24 with a fun run and mangrove planting. The 5.4-kilometer fun run was participated by around 700 runners who started working their legs in front of the Provincial Capitol compound and finished at purok Fabirante in Barangay Maribulan. Each finsher then planted a mangrove seedling and released bangus fries to Sarangani Bay. Truly exciting… But it was only the beginning…
