There are plans meant to be successful. But then there are
moments meant to happen though plans will be unsuccessful.
I guess that’s the best way to describe my recent get-together
with my best friends from high school. From Surigao, it was cancelled and moved
to Lemlunay, and when things seemed not to agree, it was finally settled to SM
City General Santos. Big LOL!
It has been roughly a year since we saw each other. So despite time constraints, we managed to see each other again at around three in the afternoon yesterday. First thing on our minds was to watch movie and so we opted for Hangover III. Just an OK movie, not as hilarious as the first film in the series. Still, it was a feel-good movie, like marshmallows on barbecue. While waiting for another friend, we decided to watch another film. We had thought of “Epic” but as things turned out, it was an epic fail. There was some kind of misinterpretation in the programming of two movies in a single cinema. Hence, instead of the animated film, we watched “Now You See Me”, a movie that would have been beautiful and suspenseful if subtitles are present. But we were in the cinema house, so it turned out pretty boring that I yawned every minute or so. We stayed not longer than thirty minutes. Another big LOL!
Impoverished, we hit up at Ranchero and enjoyed ourselves to
a platter of mixed grills and a soup of shellfishes. My stomach was on the
verge of bursting after that meal. Thanks to the delicious food, to the friendly
staff who were dressed like cowboys or Mexicans or both, to the beautiful room
design, and to the generally relaxing ambiance of the place.
Soon, our friend finally arrived and so we spent the
remaining of the night over Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Starbucks coffee.
It was not a fancy or festive reunion after all. But it was a
great time enjoying ourselves to great food and fond memories. As we have thought
of, our generation has truly witnessed the transition of technology and the
development of the City.
Soon, we each drove our separate ways back home. ‘Til next
time, Pugadbaboy!
