EarthSoul Solutions, Inc.

There are people who support the cause of nature. There are groups who collaborate to conserve, if not preserve, Mother Earth. One of such entities who work for the betterment of the environment is EarthSoul Solutions, Inc.

EarthSoul Solutions, Inc. was first conceptualized and established on May 22, 2011. Its headquarters is located in RioVista Farms and Forests, Sitio Rancho, Nagpan, Malungon, Sarangani. EarthSoul is a non-profit organization geared towards nurturing Mother Earth. Its primary advocacy are:

• Assisted natural reforestation using endemic plants and agro-forestry for carbon sequestration
• Watershed rehabilitation and management
• Home and industry waste reduction
• Low-cost waste disposal and recycling technology
• Organic food crops, poultry, live stock and aquaculture
• Reviving and improving indigenous food crops and farming practices, including SALT
• Mangrove rehabilitation and protection
• Designation and protection of marine sanctuaries
• Access of farmers to organic farming technology
• Access of fisher folks to organic aquaculture technology

The group is presently chaired by Ibno Hajar Turabin from Zamboanga City. Other officers are Josephine Gamboa Lim (Davao City) as president, Ed Cejar (Sarangani) as corporate secretary, and Jack Kanda (General Santos City) as treasurer.

Mindanao is the main key area where EarthSoul is working on. To better facilitate its operation, it has divided Mindanao into five Environmental Zones which composed of the following:

Zone 1 – Sulu, Tawi-tawi, Zamboanga provinces, Zamboanga City

Zone 2 – Lanao provinces, Misamis provinces, Camiguin, Iligan City, Cagayan de Oro City

Zone 3 – SOCSKSARGEN region, North Cotabato, Maguindanao, Cotabato City

Zone 4 – Davao provinces, Compostella Valley, Davao City

Zone 5 – Agusan provinces, Surigao provinces, Dinagat Island, Butuan City, Surigao City

Each zone has been designated with one or two directors.

The organization is supported by the National Convergence Initiative Group comprising of the Department of Agriculture, DENR and DAR in partnership with other NGAs, NGOs, businessmen, farmers, and fisher folks.

Some of the upcoming activities of EarthSoul support the celebration of the Earth Day. These activities are the Green Caravan and the 1^st Mindanaonon Environment Summit.
