Pacquiao Defeats Marquez

One again, General Santos City, the Philippines, and the rest of the world cheer for Manny Pacquiao’s 54th win. It was not an easy fight at all for his contender and challenger, Juan Manuel Marquez, really put the fighting Congressman in difficult situations.

The scorecards said 114-114, 115-113, and 116-112, in favor to the winner and still world champion Manny Pacquiao. But it was a controversial win and many analysts were surprised by this. Marquez had consistently threw in many punches which mostly hit Pacquiao, and in defense, he had evaded much of Pacquiao’s punches. However, Pacquiao proved to be that sturdy and enduring as he seemed unshaken with Marquez’s hits. To many Pacquiao fans, his fight was somehow disappointing as he appeared to be lazy in the beginning but reckless towards the end with his uncalculated moves and punches. Even his wife, Jinky, seemed nervous as seen in the cameras.

But all is well that ends well. The judges had spoken and the majority favored Manny Pacquiao.

This is really another great victory for the Filipino nation. Once again, you have raised the Filipino flag and pride for all the world to see. You really made us proud again and again.

CONGRATULATIONS, world champion and Filipino hero MANNY PACQUIAO!
