SOCOTECO II Executes Rotational Brownout

The whole General Santos City is currently experiencing rotational brownout. It started last February 10, 2012 and will continue until February 23.

SOCOTECO II, the city’s power supplier, has been announcing the said power interruption for almost a week but the Generals seemed not to heed about it. So when it finally came, a thousand complaints were heard. And we can expect to hear them until next week.

Accordingly, the power interruption is part of SOCOTECO II’s annual preventive maintenance. On every substation, power transformers will “undergo different diagnostic and preventive test to foresee any imminent failure”.

Here is the complete schedule of the rotational brownout:

Now that you know when your area is up next, you can do some necessary preparations like getting the emergency lights or candles ready, charging the battery of your phone, computer and gadgets, buying extra food, and others.

For inquiries, you can call this 553-5848 or text 09177205365. You can also visit the SOCOTECO II website for this matter or for other updates.
